How to Get Your Tiers Upgraded
Learn how to get your tiers upgraded on Zoko.
You are automatically upgraded to a higher tier based on the volume and quality of your messages. The key criteria for upgrading to the next tier include maintaining a high-quality rating and reaching a cumulative number of unique customers within a 7-day window. Zoko has no control over this; it is entirely managed by WhatsApp.
To initiate an upgrade, four key factors must be considered:
1. Account status: Ensure your WhatsApp number is connected.
2. Quality Rating: Ensure your business maintains a quality rating that is not classified as low.
3. Display Name Approval: Your display name must be approved.
4. Message Volume: Reach a cumulative number of unique customers in the last 7 days, you must have initiated X or more conversations with unique customers, where X is your current messaging limit divided by 2.
Understanding Messaging Tier:
Understanding messaging limits is crucial for the tier upgrade process. Limits are determined by factors such as phone number status, quality rating, and the frequency of initiating conversations with unique customers:
- 250 unique customers (only for Unverified business trial tier)
- Tier 1: 1K unique customers
- Tier 2: 10K unique customers
- Tier 3: 100K unique customers
- Tier 4: An unlimited number of unique customers
Scenario 1 (Tier Limit 1: 1000 messages per day):
To upgrade from Tier 1 to Tier 2, you need to have sent more than 500 messages in the last 7 days, considering that 500 is half of your tier limit of 1000 messages per day.
Suppose you are sending messages over a period of 3 days as follows:
- Day 1: 300 messages
- Day 2: 500 messages
- Day 3: 900 messages
Total messages sent over 7 days = 300 + 500 + 900 = 1700 messages
Now, let's see how this impacts your messaging tier status:
If your tier limit is 1000 messages per day:
- Half of the tier limit = 1000 / 2 = 500 messages
- In the above scenario, you have sent 800 messages within the first 2 days. WhatsApp will upgrade your tier to Tier 2 on the next day, Day 3. The upgrade process is managed by WhatsApp and may take 24 to 72 hours to reflect in your account.
Similarly, Scenario 2 (Tier Limit 2: 10,000 messages per day):
In the last 7 days, you need to have sent 10,000 or more messages, where 5000 is half of your tier limit.
Suppose you are sending messages over a period of 4 days as follows:
- Day 1: 2000 messages
- Day 2: 1500 messages
- Day 3: 2500 messages
- Day 4: 10,000 messages
Total messages sent over 7 days = 2000 + 1500 + 2500 + 10,000 = 16,000 messages.
Now, let's see how this impacts your messaging tier status:
If your tier limit is 10,000 messages per day:
- Half of the tier limit = 10,000 / 2 = 5000 messages
- In the above scenario, you have sent 6,000 messages within the first 3 days. WhatsApp will upgrade your tier to Tier 3 on the next day, Day 4. The upgrade process is managed by WhatsApp and may take 24 to 72 hours to reflect in your account.
Decreasing Your Limit
Initiating conversations when your quality rating has been flagged or number blocked by many users for the last 7 days can lead to an immediate decrease in your messaging limit. If your account is flagged/blocked, refer to our article on Understanding Quality Ratings to know what can be done.
